Ashley Monti is a Los Angeles–based editor with over a decade of experience shaping bold, emotionally resonant stories across film, television, documentaries, and commercials. She believes great editing lies in crafting moments that leave a lasting impact.
Raised in the U.S, Italy, and Canada, Ashley's multicultural upbringing fostered a deep commitment to inclusivity and a natural curiosity for diverse perspectives. Recently, she contributed to the editorial teams on Focus Features’ Girls Like Girls (dir. Hayley Kiyoko) and Parkwood Entertainment’s documentary Renaissance (dir. Beyoncé).
Her work has screened at top international festivals, including Tribeca, HollyShorts, San Diego International Film Festival, and Chicago International Film Festival. Notable projects include Freyr, Moving Out, Your Name Isn’t English, Kate in Oxnard, and Viola Franca. She is also an alum of Film Independent’s Project Involve, GMM, Women in Film, and MPEG’s Rainbow Connect.
With a BFA in Film Production from York University and an MFA in Directing from the American Film Institute, Ashley brings a filmmaker’s eye to the edit room, balancing narrative clarity with emotional truth. Her musical intuition plays a key role in her process, she even composed the original piano score for her short film The Metronome, inspired by Ludovico Einaudi’s Melodia Africana III.
Outside the edit bay, Ashley enjoys coaching soccer, playing tennis, table tennis, kickball, and making pasta.
