Ashley Monti’s editing work includes award-winning films which have screened at top film festivals. Most recently, Ashley's work was recognized by the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival with an official selection of the film Viola, Franca. In addition to winning two Emmys for Best Drama and the Bricker Humanitarian Award, the film has gone on to receive a best short film nomination at Italy’s Academy of Italian Cinema 2017 Donatellos.
She also spent last year editing at the 2017 Film Independent Project Involve Lab in Los Angeles. Her short film The Station has been recognized as official selection to the Durban Gay & Lesbian Film Festival and the San Francisco Transgender Festival.
Also recently, Ashley was part of the editing team of AT&T Hello Lab social-media drama series Guilty Party about cyber bullying which has garnered hundreds of thousands of views.
In 2013 she directed and overviewed the editing of her American Film Institute Conservatory thesis film, The Divide, which went on to receive many awards, including a Special Mention Award at the Montreal World Film Festival, and a Gold Hugo nomination at the Chicago International Film Festival.
She earned an MFA from the American Film Institute and a BFA in Film Production from York University in Toronto, Canada. Ashley has had the privilege to assist Oscar winning and ACE editors and is incredibly thankful for their mentorship.
